Original drawing: Goya Theater + Print signed – Espinosa

The Goya theater was founded in 1914, although its theatrical activity began two years later. It had a capacity of 1,500 seats, which were reduced with the subsequent renovations. In the beginning, it alternated between a theater and a movie theater, and from 1932 onwards it was only a cinema, calling itself Cine Goya. In 1986, the last film, Steven Spielberg’s Jaws, was screened, once again becoming just a theater.

In 2004 it closed and was almost on the verge of disappearing but the Focus group, the Generalitat de Catalunya, the Barcelona City Council and the Barcelona Provincial Council, under the direction of Josep Maria Pou, brought the theater to a successful conclusion and it reopened its doors and until today .
