Nacho Fernández

Nacho Fernández’s drawing style is hard to pin down. It primarily exudes manga influences, but it’s a mishmash of Bruguera, Franco-Belgian, and cartoon styles. Additionally, he often colours his own work, giving it a distinct personal touch. Owning an original piece by Nacho allows you to appreciate his fresh and spontaneous lines, making you realize that while the art of drawing might appear easy, it’s anything but…

Nacho began his career in the world of fanzines in Bilbao. His rise to fame came from the editorial success of the comic series Dragon Fall (1993) alongside Álvaro López, a humorous parody of the manga Dragon Ball and other elements of popular culture. His illustrations in this saga were heavily influenced by its creator Akira Toriyama, but over time Nacho developed and integrated his unique style into the series.

He collaborated with Cels Piñol on the Fanhunter and Star Hounds series (1997) and drew Templarios Darkbreed (1998) for Dude publishing. The French market has released his Dragon Fall work and others like Los Paladines del Horóscopo and Kung Fu Mousse (2010). In 2012, with a script by Efepé, he illustrated the return of the popular Supergrupo, showing that parodies always play a significant role in his work. This includes Juego de Poltronas, a parody of the Game of Thrones series, published by Panini Editorial. Los mundos de Valken: Oceans Ablaze is a science fiction narrative with touches of epic, humor, and fantasy, both scripted and illustrated by him, which was unveiled in 2015. Krysalis (Letra Blanka 2018) follows in the footsteps of young adult science fiction, with him handling both writing and illustrating. Later, he managed the graphic side of the comic El Guante hater del infinito (2019, Panini Editorial), set in a superhero and YouTuber world. His most personal project is the fantasy comic: Wargasmer: Pistons and Dragons.
