Sergi San Julián
“Sergi San Julián has a more angular style, very lively, that knows how to balance shadows and light, precise and generous in setting, and especially gifted for anatomy and staging. An exceptional artist who is unafraid to tackle anything” – Antoni Guiral
Sergi San Julián adapts to all types of comic drawing styles, whether humorous, caricature, realistic, or simply illustration.
Every comic artist seeks or dreams of creating their own character to succeed or gain recognition. For Sergi San Julián, this was Gorka back in 1991, published by Camaleón Ediciones. Sergi was the artist, and later, in 1998, the series was joined by writer Carlos Portela and art director Fernando Iglesias, author of the sketches for a new series of the character published by Planeta and later reprinted by Dolmen Editorial.
He also collaborated with the humor magazine El Jueves and in Fanhunter: Celquest. Later, the French comic market recruited him for the series Interface (2004), written by Dominique Latil. He drew with writer Víctor Santos in the special Los Reyes Elfos (2008) and in the graphic novel La Cuenta Atrás (2022), written by Carlos Portela, about the disaster of the Prestige oil spill off the Galician coast.
The comic Lunita, with artwork by Sergi and script by Xavier Morrell, was recently published in a volume by Unrated Comics.
