Ignasi Calvet Esteban

To hold an original by Esteban is to revisit one’s childhood, to the days of the Don Miki weekly… His pages and drawings bear that unmistakable Disney style that all artists had to imitate, but he infuses them with his personal magic. An absolutely perfect original!

His beginnings can be traced back to Bruguera around 1973 when he joined their artistic department. However, he quickly began working for the German market as an artist for Felix, el gato, Flip & Flap, and war comics for the British publisher Fleetway. In Spain, he also illustrated espionage stories and even comics featuring various Hanna-Barbera characters. In the 1980s, he started working for the Egmont publishing house, creating hundreds of Disney comics featuring the Golfos Apandadores, Donald Duck, and Mickey Mouse, destined for the Danish market and other European countries.
