Geek Pride Day is celebrated every May 25th with the aim of promoting and honoring everything related to geek culture: comics, movies, TV series, collectible figures, video games, animated shows, and more.
The idea originated in 2006 from Germán Martínez, a Spanish blogger known as Señor Buebo, as a way to create a meeting point for fans. The initiative was so successful that in 2008, the day was officially recognized in the United States as well. The chosen date is no coincidence—May 25th marks the anniversary of the release of the film Star Wars (1977), a landmark in contemporary pop culture.
I still remember those distant high school days when only a few of us talked about comic books. Nowadays, fortunately, all of this has become much more accepted, and we are now many who proudly read and enjoy them.
To join in this year’s Geek Pride celebration, at Origin of Comics we’ve selected a number of original Pafman pages by Cera on special offer, including the Mortadelo magazine issues in which they were originally published, among others.
