6º Planta was a fanzine/magazine promoted by Escuela Joso, where students published their illustrations and short stories, along with the occasional feature article. There’s no greater joy for an aspiring artist than seeing their first works in print.
In issue #0, the school even raffled off a course among those who bought a copy. The publication had a short life: only four issues were released between 1985 and 1986. Judging by the raffle number in this copy, the print run may have reached up to 2,000 copies — though they are not easy to find today.
Within its pages, we discover the early works of a young Joaquín Cera, who would soon go on to create his iconic character, Pafman. He even appears in this photo alongside basketball star Epi.
Now you can get your hands on issue #1 of 6ª Planta by purchasing two original Pafman pages at Origin of Comics. We have only one copy available.
