Josep Toutain (1932–1997) was a comic writer and artist; early in his career, he created the character Silvia Millones, but he was best known as the editor and director of the agency Selecciones Ilustradas. As an editor, he launched the iconic magazines 1984, Comix Internacional, Zona 84, and Creepy, and played a key role in establishing comics as a recognized art form.
