Manuel Vázquez (1930-1995) was one of Spain’s greatest humor comic artists, with an extensive body of work creating characters for the publisher Bruguera, including Anacleto, Las hermanas Gilda, La familia Cebolleta, La familia Churumbel, Los cuentos del Tío Vázquez, Ali-Oli, vendedor oriental , and Los casos del Inspector O’Jal.
He could create comics in every type of humor—children’s, youth, and adult—some of the latter signed under the pseudonym Sappo. His drawing style was unique, and his creativity limitless.
