Tunet Vila (1923–2016) was a artist who worked for agencies such as Histograf and Selecciones Ilustradas. Among his creations are Pito, el soldado pequeñito (1953) and two space-set series: one humorous and the other more realistic in tone, Enigma in Space.
For many years he worked at the publishing house Vértice, where he retouched Marvel material to adapt it for Spanish publications of the time, in addition to carrying out various design tasks. It was also there that he published the character for which he is best remembered by readers: Tumbita, the misadventures of a friendly skeleton.
In addition to his work as a cartoonist, he was involved in the photo-novel industry, producing more than fifty titles, many of them self-produced. He also worked as a set decoration assistant on several films and even appeared in some of them as an actor.
