Joan Mundet is an all-round author: cartoonist, illustrator, painter, ceramist… He was the official illustrator of the famous novels of El Capitán Alatriste by Arturo Pérez Reverte. Since 2016 he has carried out as a scriptwriter and cartoonist, the comic Capablanca, the story of Joan Muntada, an almost legendary bandit in Catalonia in the year 1600. A complete costumbrist portrait of the hard life in remote mountains in the 17th century.
This has been his most extensive work, published in chapters in Italy for years and in Spain compiled in volumes, by various publishers. The author finished this epic this year 2024.
