Bernat Serrat was a comic artist who was active during the final years of Editorial Bruguera, creating covers for the magazine Zipi y Zape Especial as well as several interior comic stories. Since he did not have a regular character of his own, many readers may not remember his work, but just looking at some of his pages is enough to appreciate his meticulous style.
In the late 1980s, he collaborated on the youth magazine Bichos, which attempted to fill the void left by the comics published by the now-defunct Bruguera. Bichos was a publication in which all the characters were monsters, and Serrat created the beautiful pages for the series Bicho’s School.
On September 25, the United States and other parts of the world celebrate National Comic Book Day, a date dedicated to the world of comics.
